Happy Birthday Mom

Mom

Oh mom, where do I begin?  I’ll start with Happy Birthday!  We are all so blessed to celebrate another year with you in good health.  I know based on your history you might be judging yourself in this picture but I would caution you to stop and look a little closer.  I think this picture epitomizes each and every word or thought I could possibly say to let you know how much I love you.  You are first and foremost, a mother.  A mother to three very different, yet very similar girls who adore you.  Through your actions you have taught us how to mother in the best way we know how.  You are heavy with praise and love, short and sweet with your opinions, and mindful with your suggestions (which, I’ll admit, are always right).  One of your best traits is the ability to let go and allow us to make our own mistakes and learn from them.  Your words have become our inner voice.  You have taught us the value of hard work because you have demonstrated it for us.  As I’ve grown, you’ve taught me to become a better wife, sister, friend, and most importantly, mother.  You’ve have allowed me to experiment with my parenting style and give your opinions when needed…and let me fall without saying, “I told you so.” You have taught me to honor and respect my husband.  To understand there will be really, really rough days, but with those struggles come great satisfaction and love.  You allow me to call at the crack of dawn and never complain one bit.  I really could go on and on and on but I know in my heart you know my love for you in indescribable.  You are my hero, my everything, my mentor, and my guide.  I love you with all my heart.  Happy Birthday Grammy.  Tommy’s ready for birthday cake whenever you are!
