December 1, 2007

I have to preface this post with the fact that I had every intention of posting this on the actual day of our four year wedding anniversary.  I have no excuses and I feel terrible.  My darling husband had a card and flowers waiting for me when I got home from work, and mama…well, she had nothing.  I don’t know about you but I’ve never been a good card or gift giver.  Rob is stealth.  He keeps Hallmark in business and loves the act of buying a card and strategically placing it with a gift on your pillow with a cherry on top.  I’m telling you he is good.  I, on the other hand, always tell him, “But babe I saved you two dollars by simply professing my love to your face!” Seems logical enough right?

Well this year, my excuse bucket ran dry and I totally bombed.  So in turn, my love, I give you this post for all the world to see! I knew you would just love that, right?  I’m taking it to another level and giving you the best e-greeting you’ve ever seen…three days late, but totally from the heart.  Happy Anniversary sweetheart! Let’s take a little trip down memory lane, shall we?

My Darling Husband, I feel so blessed that to this day I still remember several details of our wedding day that I pray I never forget.  I remember waking up and feeling very rested.  The one thing that really sticks out when I think back on my time before the wedding was that I was very much at peace the entire day. I don’t remember the car ride to the church but I do remember my heart POUNDING when I was about to walk down the isle to see you for the first time…and then the moment every girl dreams of had finally come.

We decided together to see each other before the wedding and we both didn’t regret it for a second. From that moment on I remember every detail.  The flowers, your smile, and the sights and smells of Christmas all around us.  It was perfect.

The point of no return. 🙂

This is the moment that matters most.  Little did we know where we would be four years from this day.

I know your dad was watching over us that day.  The forecast was rainy and not in our favor, but as we arrived the sky opened up to reveal the sun and made for an absolutely beautiful evening.

The past four years have been a wonderful journey.  You are an incredible husband and an even better father.  I love you with all my heart.  Better late than never my love.  Here’s to four wonderfully blessed years and many, many more to come.
