I was talking with a friend last night and something hit me like a ton of bricks…6 months just FLEW by. I know all of my mom friends will say, “just wait, he’ll be a year old before you know it.” Is it sad that I’m like, um please don’t grow any more? Tommy is at such a fabulous stage in his life where he gives back so much to us. His smile, laugh, and every moment in between. As I was posting these pictures I couldn’t help but smile and remind myself (as we all should every day) that you MUST treasure each and every moment while they last. Time sure does fly when your having fun.
Although we could only hope for cool and breezy weather in November it simply was not the case for our pumpkin patch pictures. In fact, it was pretty darn hot. Of course, I had purchased an outfit (before Tommy was even born) to be worn for pumpkin patch pictures and Thanksgiving – and I was determined to get a picture of Tommy wearing it. It was so hot and I felt horrible about putting him in it, but it was just for a quick photo opp (excuses, excuses). I knew you would forgive me Tommy. You really loved those big, round pumpkins. You were quite intrigued.
So in true Christin style I waited until the LAST second to find a costume for sweet Tommy for his first Halloween. Sadly, I found the last infant costume at Wal Mart and it needed a black turtle neck underneath. So I rushed back to the baby clothing department and, of course, there were no black turtle necks for boys but a MILLION turtle necks for girls with sweet ruffled sleeves…sorry Tommy. You do what you have to do for the look. Rob and I went back and forth on whether or not to even get a costume because he wouldn’t necessarily be awake to greet the trick-or-treaters…it was strictly a one-time photo opportunity for us. Unfortunately, my mom was in the hospital on Haloween but our little pumpkin made a surprise visit and brought so many smiles to the Cardiology wing that day! 🙂
The funny and sweet thing about the whole thing is that Tommy REALLY enjoyed being in his costume. I was a bit apprehensive about it and didn’t want to create this awful experience for him – but he LOVED it. It was pretty cute if I do say so my self. BOO!
